Skipper Nigel Boogaard returns from suspension while youngster Jack Simmons has been added to the bench.
The Jets are coming off a narrow 1-0 loss away to the Mariners last week and the addition of the experienced Boogaard will help bolster the home side’s backline.
Boogaard will most likely slot straight into a pretty poor Newcastle Jets team for their fixture against Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday night.
Boogaard is $210k on Fantasy A-League.
In a team that is set to lose a lot this year and not much scoring upside, Boogaard is a bad option.
