As per @FreoDockers, #AFLFantasy Veteran David Mundy out of training for atleast 4 weeks with fractured fibular
Scans have confirmed that David Mundy has sustained a fibular fracture above his left ankle.
The fracture will require non weight-bearing immobilisation for at least four weeks.
General manager of football Peter Bell said it was a disappointing setback for the veteran midfielder.
“Most likely, the fracture is a result of an injury that David sustained whilst riding his bike with his children,” Bell said.
Mundy cannot load bear for 4 weeks which means full training seems a long way away from here.
Should this injury eat into February it will put the 34 year old behind the eight ball early on.
Mundy has been so consistent in AFL Fantasy in the last five years never waivering from the 80 range.
It must be noted he only just scraped into an AFL Fantasy average of 80 in the 2019 Season.
Factor in another year older and this injury, it would look to spell a season of a mid 70’s average forward.
If you’re a contending AFL Fantasy Keeper League team, its worth it to put the feelers out to see how an ageing and injured forward is valued.
He would be an asset later in the year.
