Pickering expects Ablett to only play around 16 to 18 games in 2020, but expects the 35-year-old to increase his scoring this year nonetheless.
“The Little Master” is in line to make his 350th AFL appearance against St Kilda in round five.
“I know there’s been a lot of talk about whether or not I should have been rested more throughout last year,” the 35-year-old told Channel 7.
“I always talk about peaking at the right time. I want to make sure, first of all, that we win enough games to make finals footy, and if that is the case, then that I’m feeling good come finals time.”
