‘Before you submit’ A-League Fantasy Round 12
Thanks for checking out Before You Press Submit for Round 12 of the A-League season.
Here is a list of news you need to know before you press submit to your lineup this week:
Bruce Kamau (Western Sydney Wanderers)
Kamau has been named on the injury report as having a hamstring problem. He’ll be out for atleast 1 week.
Riley McGree (Adelaide United)
It had been thought McGree would make his return this week from his knee injury but he has been left out of the squad for the 4th week in a row.
He looks to be getting closer.
Kristian Opseth (Adelaide United)
A player who just hasn’t been able to get going, Opseth is out another week with an adductor injury.
Nigel Boogard (Newcastle Jets)
Boogard has been named in the squad but they have said he probably actually won’t play. He’s just there to provide experience on the bench. Very strange.
Osama Malik (Perth Glory)
Malik will miss his 5th game with that hamstring injury. He’s listed as another week away as he has been for 6 weeks.
O’Neill missed last 2 games for Sydney FC with a knee issue.
He has once again been left out of the squad.
Abdiel Arroyo (Newcastle Jets)
The Jets hitman has been ruled out for 4-6 weeks.
Paul Izzo (Adelaide United)
Izzo was pulled before last weeks fixture with an adductor injury but has been cleared to return to the squad.
He’s expected to slot straight back into the Starting XI this week.
Kaine Sheppard (Newcastle Jets)
Sheppard has been out with a foot injury sustained in a September friendly against Sydney.
Good to see him back and hes likely to be treated cautiously from the bench.
Scott McDonald (Western United)
The out of form striker returns to the squad from his achilles injury. Not Fantasy A-League relevant at this stage.
Alex Rufer (Wellington Phoenix)
The key Phoenix midfielder has returned from a knee complaint, will be interesting to see if he can replace the impressive Cameron Devlin in midfield for Wellington.
Michael Zullo (sydney FC)
A season that has never really got going for Zullo, he returns from a calf injury. Remains to be seen just the role he will have this weekend.
Bruno Fornaroli (Perth Glory)
So are Newcastle Jets the new points boost? They are looking shakier than the Mariners these days and opposing teams have ran absolute riot in the past two weeks.
The only catch? This week brings the toothless Brisbane Roar to the Jets, so it’s actually one I’d stay away from unless you own Roy O’Donovan (Scott Neville as a real dark horse).
Adelaide have a nice matchup vs the Wanderers but the forecasted 40 degrees might make it tough to flourish.
I have once again rolled with Bruno Fornaroli as Perth travel to Gosford to take on the Mariners.
The Mariners have been great at home so are no pushovers, but I expect Perth to be able to hit the scoresheet with Bruno most likely.
Sportsdeck Fantasy A-League
Traded Out: Robbie Kruse – Victory are on a bye, so it was a neccessity.
Traded In: Alex Meier – This is risky. Meier has looked pretty pedestrian all season but he seems to be back in the Best XI. At the cut price of $148k I’m willing to take the risk.
Kurto (Western United)
Millar (Newcastle Jets
Neville (Brisbane Roar)
Delbridge (Melbourne City)
Davila (Wellington Phoenix)
Muller (Western Sydney Wanderers)
Ninkovic (Sydney FC)
Diamanti (Western United)
Meier (Western Sydney Wanderers)
Le Fondre (Sydney FC)
Fornaroli (Perth Glory) Captain
